Riley is a clapper now. She has been trying to clap for a couple weeks, but couldn't quite get it down. Aaron was playing with her on the 22nd and he saw her clap, and heard a noise! The next day I was practicing with her too, and heard it! Since then, she has clapped every day. It's so cute to see her do it and to hear the sound of her little hands clapping. So cool!
As for walking...she took a step yesterday but hasn't really done it too much. One thing she does do a lot is stand up and put her hands in the air. She's practicing standing and balancing a lot! She's getting stronger all the time.
We finally got a bottom stair gate so we don't have to worry anymore about her climbing the stairs unsupervised. If it were up to her, she'd be going up those stairs a hundred times a day...she loves it!
Off to visit a friend and her two boys, on this rainy windy day!
Have a good weekend, all!

Hannah is now double digits...
Hannah is 10 years old!
We enjoyed a fun day on Saturday, the 19th.
Hannah got to play with her sisters, shop at Target, open presents, and eat at Friendly's (restaurant of her choice).
We all had a great day together, celebrating Hannah's birthday!

First Steps
When Riley and I were at my parents' house visiting with my aunts and them on Friday, Riley had taken a step towards me! We were in the living room playing, and she was holding on to the round coffee table in their living room. She decided to turn towards me and took a step! My mouth was wide open, I couldn't believe my eyes! Both my aunts, Kathi and Heidi, were in the room with us...they couldn't believe it either.
Then, yesterday we had Emillie and Hannah over for the day. We all were playing in the living room with Riley. I was on the floor with Riley and she was standing holding on to one of her walker toys, and turned towards me and decided to take a couple steps to me! We all saw it and couldn't believe our eyes!
We would say, Riley has for sure taken her very first steps this weekend. What a big milestone!

Aunts are Great!
On Friday, the 18th, Riley and I had a nice trip to MD for the day. My two aunts, Heidi and Kathi, were visiting from Ohio. Riley had met Heidi once before. This was her first time meeting Kathi! She had fun with everyone, playing and crawling around. The day flew by, as it usually does. We took her outside for a little bit, but mostly it was an indoor day for her.

funny girl
This past week I have found Riley doing some funny things. She is crawling faster, and climbing more and more. She's discovering new things all the time. It's fun watching her find new things about an item, something she didn't know about before. For instance, now she knows how to climb into her car seat carrier and play. She also knows how to get into the laundry basket - not just tip it over, but get inside it and play. She cracks me up!
Have you seen or heard of those teething biscuits (that come in wheat or barley)? When I first saw them way back when, I thought they were weird. I didn't think I'd ever buy them for Riley, afterall she's not a dog! She's been constantly biting things, and trying to put her whole fist in her mouth because it feels good. I thought, what the heck I'll try those teething biscuits as one other remedy to help soothe her gums and teeth. After lunch today, I gave her one. She loved it! It was messy but I was glad she was happy biting hard on it. So funny!
