Daddy/daughter dance

Aaron took Riley to the annual Daddy/Daughter dance here on base. It was so fun seeing Riley excited for the "Royal Ball!"  Riley wore one of her play dresses, Princess Tiana's. Both Daddy and Riley looked so cute!  They had a really good time. :)

Happy Mother's Day to all of my fellow momma's out there!!

 

This morning I had breakfast made, and served, for me from Aaron and Riley.

 

A beach picnic lunch at a local park.

And then, a tantrum.

A car ride home.

 

Naps.

 

Quiet time for mom!

 

(and time to blog...)

 

Honestly, its been a normal day for the most part.

 

What makes it special is the extra thoughtfulness behind everything.

 

And of course the beautiful flowers and sweet words written in cards.

 

It couldn't have been any better!

 

I love spending time with my loves.

Daddy is home!

Last week we said goodbye to some dear friends of ours.

17 and going on an adventure

My stepdaughter, Emillie, turned 17 years old last week!

And just a few days after celebrating her birthday, she was off on an airplane...

To Germany!

Emillie is going to be living with some family on her mom's side - a relative who is stationed over there right now.

It's a really big adventure for her and we're hoping it'll be that change she's so been wanting. 

We're going to miss her so much - we knew we were going to be saying goodbye to the girls (Emillie and Hannah) - but never imagined Emillie moving before us!

Halloween 2013...bitter-sweet

This Halloween was special.

I'm not a big fan of Halloween...I'm just not.

I love candy, but not dressing up.

But I have to say this one I will always remember.

It was the first Halloween for Owen.

The first time Riley went trick-or-treating in our own neighborhood.

And the last day we shared as a family before Aaron left.

Aaron is now on a remote assignment for one year!

We miss him like crazy already.
