big girl bed

I never posted pics of Riley's "big girl" bed.

We converted her crib early March sometime.

She has done awesome in her bed since day one.

I think waiting until she was closer to 3 years old was key for us.

We're going to keep her in this for awhile longer (at least a year) before going straight to a twin bed later.

She's happy in her bed!

As long as she's happy, we're not in a rush to move her up.

I thought it about time to post a pic to share with you all!

Notice all of her "friends?"

Riley loves her stuffed animals!

The secret is out!

It's a...

BOY!

I am happy.

Aaron is really happy.

In this house of all girls...he's excited to have a boy!

Riley is happy too.

She's just happy to be a big sister!

Here is our baby boy at 20 weeks gestation.

Here's Riley...again.

I took these last week sometime.

She got a fun little "Minnie" purse to decorate for her birthday!

She also got a kitchen from Mommy & Daddy!

This was her "big" gift from us!

Mmmm...plastic grapes.

So.  Good.

playing & dancing

One day last week I got some pics of Riley playing on the porch.

She was being so silly and dancing like a goof!

Too cute not to share...

family update

Last week was bitter-sweet.

We celebrated Riley turning 3 years old...which was definitely "sweet!"

We also learned that Aaron will be moving - going on a remote tour - for one year starting this fall.  This remote tour is unaccompanied by family.  Meaning, he goes alone!  This news was definitely "bitter."  We always knew it was a possibility, but never thought it'd happen this year.

I'm not giving a lot of details on my blog, on purpose.  Those who are interested in learning more, just message me and I'll be happy to share what I know with you.

We have six months until this move happens...but planning and preparing starts as soon as now.  Especially, for Aaron with work and with us at home expecting a baby this summer.

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming months.  It'll be tough for all of us - having a newborn and shortly after seeing Daddy leave for one year.  It makes me so sad.  As a mom, I naturally worry about my family.

We are a military family and these things always happen - it's a part of our life.

There is good, and blessings in every situation though.  I'm trying my hardest to focus on the positive and to be strong for Aaron and my children.

God is good.  My faith will help to get me through...

I'll keep you posted as time goes on.

Riley's 3rd Birthday

Last week we celebrated Riley's 3rd Birthday!

We had a nice, quiet day on her actual birthday - with just Aaron and I.  We took Riley to lunch and played with her.  At night we watched a movie and had ice cream in the living room!  It was definitely special.  And, ice cream is what Riley chose to eat for her birthday treat.

Riley is officially 3 years old today!

All week she received mail from faraway friends and family!  She enjoyed opening up all of her special cards and gifts.

Last Saturday we had a small party for Riley.  Not all of our immediate family could make it - but my parents were able to join us, and we had Emillie and Hannah here too.  Riley got balloons, played outside, blew big bubbles, had cupcakes, ate yummy food and opened more cards and presents!  She was definitely Princess Riley all day long!

Riley is excited to be 3 years old!  She's such a big girl now and it shows in every way.

Thank you to all of our family and friends who sent Riley birthday wishes, cards and gifts!

Here's to another fabulous year, Riley!!
