Riley's FIRST haircut!

This past Presidents' Day (18th), we had something special planned...

...Riley's VERY first haircut!!

We took her to a kid friendly salon.

It was perfect.

We got a certificate and lock of hair to keep.

Riley did an awesome job!

She sat so still in that chair.
(Just like at the dentist!)

Aaron and I were so proud of her.

She definitely deserved her lollipop afterwards.

We were really excited to see how cute her hair turned out too!

AFTER

After getting home from Riley's hair appointment.

I took this picture today...still looking cute!

P.S.  If you're wondering about the mark on Riley's forehead...she fell last week and her bump is still healing - even with a bruise, she's still our little cutie!

Riley's first dentist appointment!

Earlier this month, we took Riley to her very first dentist appointment!

She did so well.

For being our wiggly child - she sat really still in that chair.

She got to wear cool sunglasses while getting her teeth cleaned.

She got to pick out her own toothpaste flavor (cherry).

She got to pick out what color toothbrush she wanted (pink princess, of course!)

She got to pick two prizes at the end of her visit...she picked a small animal toy (a seal) and a crazy pirate mask!

On the way home, she said "hey guys, look at me."

Aaron and I turned around to this...

We cracked up!

She managed to get that pirate mask on by herself.

A great day at the dentist with our little goof!

Riley and snowman

Here's Riley and one of her snowmen...

My mom helped her make him.

She was very sleepy in these photos - my mom always wears her out!
(In a good way, of course!)

Here's a quick video of her too...

fire trucks

Most of you know already that Aaron is a firefighter in the Air Force.

The other night while on base (we live off) Aaron decided to swing by the new fire station he's working out of and show Riley and I.

It was so fun to see Riley getting really excited about the fire trucks and fire gear!

Here are a few pictures taken with Aaron's phone...

Riley already knows what a pike pole is.

Do you?

rain and puddle jumping

Here is Riley playing in the cold rain.

These were taken the day before our "snow day."

Sorry, I'm posting things a little backwards on here!

fun in snow

A week or so ago, we had some snow.

We got about four inches.

This winter has been pretty mild for us here in NJ.

I mean, its been cold - we just haven't had a ton of snow.

Anyway, we had a blast taking Riley out to play in the snow.

It was a different kind of play compared to our time in VT - because it wasn't as cold outside.

She was really into eating snow this time around!

Here are some pics from our snow day.

A video of Riley in snow...

helper Riley

Riley is absolutely in that age (and has been) where she just loves to help.

I really try to let her help out at times.

(With cooking, cleaning, picking up, etc.)

I can't always - I mean, lets be honest.

If she helped all the time...things wouldn't get done.

It takes a lot of patience when little one's help out.

I do think it needs to happen though!

And some things are easier for her to help out with than others.

My patience is tested daily anyway, so what's the big deal?  Ha.

Really, I just love seeing Riley happy and if helping makes her happy - bring it on!

Here's Riley helping us make "calzone rolls."

Riley saying "cheese."

Riley with flour on her face and Daddy in background.

Here's Riley helping ice mini cupcakes.
(and, yup...that's can frosting - a big fat whatever!  ha ha)

I don't get pictures of every time Riley helps - obviously.

Just the other day she helped me and Grandma Pat ice some sugar cookies for Valentine's Day!

She did an awesome job.

As.  Always.

I love my little helper!

(And yes, we eat too much sugar - if you haven't figured that out yet.)
