In Action

I wanted to share some action shots with you, of Riley crawling.

First of all, thank you again Mom and Dad F. for the early Christmas present for Riley.  She was all over that package when I brought it inside.  So cute to watch her climb on it.  She must've known it was for her!

This past Tuesday I followed Riley around for about 5 minutes, and she was all over the place.  Her crawling is getting faster all the time.  She's able to go further and further.  Its been really fun to watch her, and a little scary too knowing all the things she can get into.

Our little cutie is so active now, and a lot of fun.  She's making so many noises and funny faces too!

Today, Aaron and I both witnessed Riley crawling!  For the last several weeks she has been scooting around on her belly.  Then it went from dragging her legs to inching them forward as she dragged herself across the floor.  Eventually, she started to pick her knees up and would crawl once, then fall to the ground and scoot along the rest of the way.  Aaron and I couldn't quite get ourselves to call that crawling...but today, she was definitely crawling!  She was on all fours, moving her arms and hands in front of her and inching her knees across the floor, and she did it several times in a row.  Unbelievable.  It was so fun to cheer her on.  We are so proud of our little girl!

Aside from the crawling, Riley has been incredible fussy lately with new teeth developing.  She is getting another one on the bottom, the skin has broken and we're just waiting to see that little tooth pop up.  Poor baby girl has been very frustrated with that and she's letting us know with all her fussing and crying.  Teething is a difficult stage...for both babies and parents!  Ha.

Anyway, Riley is growing so fast.  Crawling.  Teeth.  Look out!  Watch your little toes when you visit us, she'll crawl at warp speed to your feet and then...ouch!  Those teeth are sharp...tiny, but sharp.

Feeding Riley solid foods can be a challenge.  Like all babies, some days she eats great and other days, she hardly eats a bite.  It comes and goes, and you just never know if she'll like the food or not.  You just try.  I  have wasted so much food already because I think she'll be hungry and like her food, and she doesn't.  It's OK though.  This is all a new experience for her (and me) and we're just going with the flow.  I know that one day she'll love eating and hopefully, will like a wide variety of foods.  On days when she eats great, I love seeing her smile.  And, especially, with a blue face like this.  Riley loves blueberries!

I only have a couple photos of Riley and I that actually turned out, because we both were smiling.  This is one of them.  My sister in law took this last week when we were visiting.  Thought I'd share it with you.  :)

7 months old, already!

Riley is 7 months old.

She's doing so much these days.

Smiling, laughing, talking, eating a variety of baby foods, sitting unsupported, scooting all around on her stomach, pulling herself up on some things (had to lower her crib), bouncing in her jumper, standing when holding on to something, playing with so many different toys, using her fingers more to feel things, chewing on everything, rolling over in all directions, and just about ready to take off crawling...

We enjoyed a visit with Aaron's family recently. 

It was a quick trip to NY, but we were so happy we could go. 

Aaron and I loved meeting our beautiful niece, Gracie.

This was Riley's first Halloween. 

She was a cow.

A happy cow, at first.

We even tried the costume a second time, hoping for better results.
